Natural ways to cure Hypothyroidism


Fluoride and soy suppress the thyroid gland leading to decreased production of thyroid hormones.




The first step in normalizing production of thyroid hormones is to give up use of all products and foods which contain fluoride and soy.



Just 2 milligrams of fluoride is enough to cripple your thyroid gland production of thyroid hormones.  You probably consume anywhere between 2 to 10 mg every day!



To avoid fluoride intake avoid the following:


  • Sodas
  • Processed cereals
  • Non stick cookware
  • Toothpaste which contains fluoride 
  • Instant formula foods


A group of antidepressants known as Selective Serotonin Re uptake Inhibitors (referred to as SSRI) for short, contain high amounts of fluoride. Avoid this class of antidepressants like the plague.



Too much estrogen in the body also slows down the thyroid gland. Males who are obese have excess estrogen in their bodies. Exercise, both strength training and aerobic exercise, to lose your gut, thus restoring normal estrogen levels and thyroid hormone production.



Include the following amino acids in supplement form in your diet:


  • L-Tyrosine
  • L-Arginine


Both help in restoring thyroid function.



Eat eggs and other selenium containing foods. Low levels of the trace mineral selenium leads to decreased production of thyroid hormone.



Most of the population suffers from zinc deficiency. Low blood levels of zinc lead to an under active thyroid gland. Include zinc rich foods and a zinc supplement to help restore normal levels of thyroid hormone.



Cooper is also needed in proper amounts in the body to combat low thyroid hormone levels in the blood. Try taking cooper in the form of chlorophyll.



Include pears and apples in your diet and avoid canola oil. Pears and apples help to restore normal thyroid function while canola oil is a poison which will not only destroy your thyroid gland but many other organs in your body.



Exercise. Exercise. Exercise. Exercising helps cure many many diseases. One of the main reasons our civilization is plagued by so many ailments is because of our sedentary lifestyles. Strength train and either do aerobic exercise or High Intensity Interval Train (HIIT) to cure most of your illnesses.



You cannot expect to cure any illness by sitting on your couch or work table all day.



Many people are iodine deficient. You need to supplement with iodine if you want to restore normal thyroid hormone levels. Eat baked fish for iodine.



Get rid of caffeine and sugar from your diet. Both wreck havoc on your thyroid hormone levels.



Protein plays a major rule in getting your hormones to your tissues. Up your protein intake. Aim for one gram of protein per kg of weight. So, if you weight 70 kgs you should be getting at least 70 grams of protein which is approximately one and a half chicken breast every day.



All the pathways which lead to hormone production need cholesterol. You need fat in your diet. Include, fish, nuts, and olive oil in your diet to help these pathways provide you with the required amount of thyroid hormone your body needs.



Vitamin D and omega 3 fatty acids are absolutely essential for not only restoring thyroid hormone levels but for many many other functions of the body. Did you know that Vitamin D is needed in over 200 different processes which take place in the body! Get Vitamin D by sitting in the sun for 10-15 minutes, 3 times a week. Eat nuts and supplement your diet with fish oil for omega 3 fatty acids.



Try to avoid foods which contain gluten.



Certain foods such as:


  • Brussels
  • Cauliflower
  • Cabbages
  • Peaches
  • Strawberries
  • Milk


Are known as goitrogens. They interfere with thyroid function. Eat these foods in moderation.



Avoid stress. Stress is the cause of many problems. Decreased thyroid function is just one among the many ailments which result from stress. Listen to nature sounds for 2 hours every day to reduce stress by 200%.



The thyroid gland is very sensitive to radiation. Avoid radiation. Wear a thyroid collar if you have to to protect your thyroid gland from radiation.



Eat yogurt.  Yogurt provides your stomach with healthy bacteria which helps your gut maintain proper function. If your gut is not functioning properly, you will suffer from decreased levels of thyroid hormones.
